[Press]Cloocus Successfully Builds AI Tutor and Academic/Admissions Chatbot for Cyber Hankuk University of Foreign Studies

March 6, 2025 – Cloocus (www.cloocus.com), a specialized cloud consulting and management company focusing on data and artificial intelligence (AI), announced the successful implementation of an AI Tutor and an academic/admissions chatbot for Cyber Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (Cyber HUFS, President Jang Ji-ho).

This project, based on Microsoft Azure OpenAI, aims to support students’ learning while automating inquiries related to academic affairs and admissions, thereby enhancing educational and administrative efficiency.

The AI Tutor is designed as an AI-powered learning assistant capable of real-time Q&A by studying key concepts and learning materials from the courses students take. Through this tool, students can review lecture concepts, request additional explanations, and receive summarized information. Unlike simple FAQ-based responses, the AI Tutor utilizes natural language understanding technology to grasp context and provide more precise learning support.

To efficiently handle frequently asked questions during academic and admission periods, an academic/admissions chatbot was also developed. This chatbot offers real-time responses 24/7 to queries related to academic schedules, admission procedures, registration, and course-related matters. By significantly reducing the manual workload of administrative staff, it maximizes operational efficiency. As a result, students can access necessary information at any time, and administrative departments can focus on more critical tasks.

For the development of the AI Tutor and chatbot, Cyber HUFS evaluated various generative AI solutions, including Microsoft, Google, and Amazon Web Services. Ultimately, Microsoft Azure was selected for its superior response accuracy, strong security, and stable cloud environment, which best met the needs of the educational institution.

Cloocus, which led the project, has won the Microsoft Partner of the Year award for three consecutive years and has also gained recognition for its cloud-based data and AI expertise through the Databricks Partner Awards. Throughout the project, Cloocus provided comprehensive technical support, including Azure OpenAI service architecture design, model optimization, and the development of the AI Tutor and chatbot. Moving forward, Cloocus plans to further enhance the system’s capabilities and introduce additional features, such as a translation system for international students.

Cloocus CEO Hong Sung-wan stated, “AI technology is revolutionizing the way education supports learning and administrative processes. Through this AI Tutor and chatbot initiative, Cyber HUFS aims to provide prospective and current students with more accurate and timely information while optimizing learning and administrative processes to create an enhanced educational environment.
