Pearl Abyss was founded in 2010 and a leading game developer in Korea and mostly known for its flagship game Black Desert Online, which quickly became a phenomenon worldwide, followed by Black Desert Mobile. It’s working on going more global and multi-platform, and Cloocus is committed to supporting them along to way.
Cloud Background
Pearl Abyss chose Azure to prepare quickly for mobile game launch and to set up best user environment. They considered AWS and MSSQL but eventually chose Azure SQL DB due to its unrivaled performance and availability for massive traffic.

Azure Storage Service, OMS(Operation Management Suite), Azure SQL Database(PaaS Service), Azure Security Center, Azure Network Watcher, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure SQL Database, Azure Application Gateway, Azure Load Balancer and so on.
Challenges
As customer does’t have enough knowledge about infra, Cloocus educated and trained customer and its partners on infrastructure and Azure basics, its benefits, etc. Customer gave Cloocus and Azure full trust and support, and accepted proposal completely, which made the project a great success. Customer was happy with Cloocus’ education on infrastructure basics as well as Azure, and nimble response to request.
